Moving is overwhelming. And because of the time commitment and the emotional investment needed, bringing in an outside party is a great idea. Home Girl will simplify your move and manage every aspect of it. Our goal is to get you from one fully functioning home into the next with minimal downtime for you and your family.

All moves start the same, whether you are moving across town or across an ocean. Organizing your move on the front end makes unpacking a breeze. Our move management team will help you identify what’s going to the new home, and what we can sell/donate/dispose. From there we will organize and carefully pack your items and label them appropriately for your new home.

Pre-Pack + Stage | Need to get your home market-ready? Home Girl will pre-pack and stage your home before you put it on the market. We will pack and declutter ancillary spaces, closets, and cabinets so those areas are complete and ready for the move. We are members of the Real Estate Staging Association and can stage your home using the furniture and accessories you already have. Additionally, if there are maintenance or aesthetic items in your home that need attention, we can take care of those before you list. Combining these services will ensure your home looks its best to appeal to all potential buyers.

Final Pack | Your lease is ending or your home has sold and you are ready to move on. But… you are only mentally ready, not physically. Home Girl will get you organized and packed, making moving day a breeze. Even more importantly, everything will be optimally organized for unpacking.

Moving Day Management | Finding a moving company who is reliable and efficient is not easy. We have a few companies we work with regularly and who we have vetted. They are familiar with the Home Girl system and know how to work with a move manager. So let us take charge of moving day! We will be present at all locations, manage the movers - making sure they take the care needed with your personal belongings - and make sure furniture and boxes are put in their correct places in the new home. (This service is only available in combination with another move management service listed above.)

How do we get started?

Contact us to schedule a 30 minute initial assessment (no charge if within the Denver metro) to walk-through your home and discuss our process and your timeline. From there Home Girl will put together an action plan and estimate. Once finalized we will work with you on a schedule and get going!

How long does it take?

That depends on the size of your home and the scope of work, but typically it takes 4-5 days to do an orderly pack and 2-3 days to unpack and put organization systems in place. A schedule will be included with the estimate.

Who will do the work?

At least two people are always present on our jobs - a lead organizer and an assistant organizer. For move management projects we will bring in additional assistant organizers as needed. And if the work involves heavy lifting or building something, we will bring in other subcontractors. All of this will be included in the action plan and estimate.

What should I do before you arrive?

For the initial assessment it is helpful if you have a general idea of what we will be packing and moving and what you are prepared to part with. On working days, you will be given a schedule that outlines where we will be working, when. We ask that the spaces we are working in be generally clean, i.e. beds made, dishes and food put away, laundry started, etc.

Will you help donate/sell/dispose of items that I no longer want or need?

Absolutely! We will list items for sale, and negotiate with and meet potential buyers. We will also do donation drop-offs and arrange for large item and trash pick-ups.

Do I need to provide any materials?

No, we will bring all materials needed and the cost will be included in the action plan and estimate. If you have storage containers you’d like to use we will use those first if they are in good condition and meet our needs. We prefer not to use mixed sized and used boxes for liability purposes, though if you have original boxes for TVs, etc we will use those as needed. An allowance will be included on the estimate for specialty items needed in the organization of the new home.

Do I need to be there?

No, in fact we encourage you to pack a bag and go on vacation and miss all of this completely! But whatever is best and most convenient for you works for us.

Are you a moving company?

We are not a moving company. We hire and oversee moving companies but we ourselves are not a moving company. We will however relocate items from one place to another, as needed and as included in the estimate and action plan.

What about long distance moves?

We can help with those too, in all of the same ways we would on a local move. The Home Girl team does travel and we can also find local assistant organizers through our professional organization network. In a new town where you may not have any contacts or resources it’s nice to have someone you trust do the unpacking.

Can your team help with general handyman services and other things in our new or old home?

Yes! We have an extensive list of handymen, window washers, carpet cleaners, painters, carpenters, etc. and can take care of items needing to be done before your home goes on the market, or to get you settled into your new home. Check out our Home Personalization page for more info.
